Coronado natural woven shades are made to your exact numbers, so careful measuring matters. Use a steel tape measure, measure every window separately, and record width first, then height, rounded down to the nearest 1/8 inch.
1. Choose inside or outside mount
Inside mount sits within the window frame for a clean, built-in look. Outside mount is fixed on the wall or trim above the window and suits shallow frames or covering more of the wall. Outside mount shades come with valance side return caps; a 6" valance side return is available on inside mount shades at no charge.
2. Check your window depth (inside mount)
Standard headrail (cordless, motorized and loop control up to 72" x 72"): at least 3/4" of flat depth, 2 1/2" to mount flush.
Loop control over 72" x 72" (2 1/2" headrail): at least 1 1/4", 3 1/4" to mount flush.
Dual shade (3 1/2" headrail): at least 2 1/4", 5" to mount flush.
Outside mount needs 1 1/2" of flat surface for the brackets.
3. Measure width
Inside mount: measure inside the frame at the top, middle and bottom and record the smallest measurement. Give us the exact opening; the factory takes a 1/2" deduction in width so the shade clears the frame.
Outside mount: measure the area you want covered, allowing about 1 1/2" of overlap on each side of the window to minimize light leakage.
4. Measure height
Inside mount: measure from the top inside of the frame to the sill at the left, middle and right and record the smallest measurement.
Outside mount: measure from where the headrail will be mounted to where you want the shade to stop.
Shades may be made up to 1/2" longer than the ordered length.
5. Note the details
Tell us when shades hang side by side or in the same room so they are cut from the same dye lot.
Choose the side for the loop control chain or the motor charging port (left or right).
Size limits: 24" to 96" long and up to 96" wide (72" x 72" for Biscayne, Lanai and Woodwind). Cordless shades start at 20" wide (22" for Alturas and Siesta), loop control at 18", and motorized shades at 26" wide with a 36" to 96" drop. Dual shades go up to 72" x 72". The shade builder checks these for you.
