Pure Honeysuckle & Tulip Fabric

During the artwork creation of this design, the Morris & Co. studio referred to the original Morris watercolor drawings of Honeysuckle (from 1876). From there, the new artwork was created with fine ink, pencil and watercolor and the interpretation of the design kept soft and fluid with etched marks and undulating tone work.

Well-loved archive designs have been carefully reworked to reflect the colors of Morris’s Icelandic Journal, with gentle mica finishes and metallic highlights sitting alongside fine embroidery juxtaposed with chunky textures.
