Giudecca Fabric
Giudecca Fabric
GIUDECCA was designed by Mariano Fortuny in the 1920s and named for the Venetian island on which he established his factory in 1921 — the same factory where it is still printed today. Its ornate scroll composition reflects the confluence of opposites that defines Venice itself: land and sea, east and west, positive and negative, right-side up and upside down of itself. The pattern is symmetrical in both axes: it can be read from any orientation without disruption, a quality that gives it exceptional versatility across large upholstery applications and statement wall installations. The large repeat rewards expansive surfaces where the full depth of the design can unfold. GIUDECCA is Fortuny's most architecturally classical pattern in the SEREÑUS collection — a Venetian fabric with over a century of history.
