Spagnolo Fabric

SPAGNOLO is one of Mariano Fortuny's earliest designs, a 17th-century Spanish pattern created at the beginning of his career as a tribute to his motherland. The motif that winds through SPAGNOLO, lush, mid-bloom, framed by tangled vines and leafy tendrils, is both personal and universal, a symbol carried across Spanish, Moorish, and Italian decorative traditions. The design moves across the field like an intricately wrought gate: structured in its overall geometry, effusive in its individual forms.
