Kensington Tuileries Wallpaper
Kensington Tuileries Wallpaper
Kensington Tuileries Wallpaper by Watts 1874, the London house founded in 1874 by the Gothic Revival architects G.F. Bodley, Thomas Garner and George Gilbert Scott Jr.
c.1890 rolls of the original papers were found in the attic of the Fred Holland Day House, Massachusetts, though the original design appears to be English. The near perfect symmetry suggests that the print was designed to be used sideways as a wide frieze or dado pattern. Kensington's leaves swirl as if underwater, flowing amongst flowers in this dreamy romantic design in dusky hues and strong primary color ways.
