Persian Paisley Fabric

Persian Paisley Fabric is a Titley & Marr design, from the English fabric house known for archive-inspired chintzes, toiles and woven cottons.

The word Kalamkari is derived from the Persian words Kalam meaning ‘pen’ and Kari meaning ‘work’. Kalamkari refers to the art of pen and brush technique painting on cloth – generally the pieces described the narrative of religious legends from which stories were learnt in the temples. Kalamkari is a product of the southeast coast of India. The antique piece which inspired this collection would have been made for export to the Persian market, probably to be used as a door curtain.

Specifications: Content: 60% Linen, 40% Cotton. Width: 53.94 inches (137 cm). Vertical repeat: 12.6 inches (32.0 cm). Abrasion: 20,000 Martindale rubs. Suitability: General Domestic. Flammability: Passes Cigarette test, can be treated to pass all domestic and contract requirements. Sold by the yard in whole yards only (price upon request).
