TRH5777 Kōshi-Gasuri Multi-Pattern Indigo Ikat Cotton
TRH5777 Kōshi-Gasuri Multi-Pattern Indigo Ikat Cotton
A weaver's showpiece: nine different kōshi-gasuri (格子絣, checked ikat) motifs woven side by side across the width of one indigo cloth. In kasuri (絣, Japanese ikat) the yarns are bound and dyed before weaving, so each white block and fleck carries the gentle, feathered edge that marks hand-resisted indigo.
Cut the bands apart for patchwork and quilting, or use the full width for a one-of-a-kind cushion, bench seat, apron or jacket.
Specifications: Content: 100% Cotton. Width: 39 inches (100 cm). Weight: about 5.8 oz per linear yard (180 g per meter). Hand: medium weight. Technique: Kasuri (ikat) and check, plain weave. Origin: woven in Japan.
Care: Hand wash or gentle machine wash cold, separately. Natural indigo can transfer color with friction, especially when new. Do not bleach. Dry flat in the shade. Professional cleaning recommended for upholstered pieces.
Ordering: Sold by the yard, with a 1-yard minimum; multiple yards are cut as one continuous length. Natural dyes and hand weaving vary slightly from lot to lot, so we recommend a sample for color-critical projects.
