TRH5778 Men-Asa Aizome Indigo Stripe Cotton-Hemp
A light, breathable men-asa (綿麻, cotton and hemp) cloth in deep aizome (藍染め, natural indigo dyeing) with fine, irregular white pinstripes. The asa (麻, hemp) gives a crisp, cool hand and a faint slub, while the cotton keeps it soft against the skin.
Ideal for shirts, summer dresses and scarves, and lovely as unlined curtains or cushion covers where the light can show the stripe.
Specifications: Content: Cotton-hemp blend. Width: 39 inches (100 cm). Weight: about 4.2 oz per linear yard (130 g per meter). Hand: lightweight. Technique: Aizome yarn-dyed stripe, plain weave. Origin: woven in Japan.
Care: Hand wash or gentle machine wash cold, separately. Natural indigo can transfer color with friction, especially when new. Do not bleach. Dry flat in the shade. Professional cleaning recommended for upholstered pieces.
Ordering: Sold by the yard, with a 1-yard minimum; multiple yards are cut as one continuous length. Natural dyes and hand weaving vary slightly from lot to lot, so we recommend a sample for color-critical projects.
