TRH5779 Chiri-Gasuri Scattered Indigo Ikat Cotton
TRH5779 Chiri-Gasuri Scattered Indigo Ikat Cotton
Chiri-gasuri (散り絣, scattered ikat) sprinkles tiny resist-dyed flecks across the cloth like falling petals. Offered two ways: white flecks on a deep kon (紺, dark indigo) ground, or indigo flecks on a shiro (白, white) ground. Each fleck is created by binding the yarn before it is dipped in indigo, the classic kasuri (絣, Japanese ikat) technique.
A versatile medium weight for shirts, light jackets, cushions, curtains and quilting.
Specifications: Content: 100% Cotton. Width: 39 inches (100 cm). Weight: about 5.8 oz per linear yard (180 g per meter). Hand: medium weight. Technique: Kasuri (ikat), plain weave. Origin: woven in Japan. Colorways: TRH5779.A Kon Ground, TRH5779.B Shiro Ground.
Care: Hand wash or gentle machine wash cold, separately. Natural indigo can transfer color with friction, especially when new. Do not bleach. Dry flat in the shade. Professional cleaning recommended for upholstered pieces.
Ordering: Sold by the yard, with a 1-yard minimum; multiple yards are cut as one continuous length. Natural dyes and hand weaving vary slightly from lot to lot, so we recommend a sample for color-critical projects.
