Two classic motifs in one cloth: the narrow, evenly spaced lines of daimyō-jima (大名縞, feudal-lord stripe) in indigo-green on deep kon (紺, dark indigo), interrupted by tiny white dashes of kosame-gasuri (小雨絣, drizzle ikat) that look like light rain.
A generous 125 cm width and medium weight make it practical for shirts and dresses as well as cushions, curtains, tote bags and quilting.
Specifications: Content: 100% Cotton. Width: 49 inches (125 cm). Weight: about 7.7 oz per linear yard (240 g per meter). Hand: medium weight. Technique: Kasuri (ikat) with yarn-dyed stripe, plain weave. Origin: woven in Japan.
Care: Hand wash or gentle machine wash cold, separately. Natural indigo can transfer color with friction, especially when new. Do not bleach. Dry flat in the shade. Professional cleaning recommended for upholstered pieces.
Ordering: Sold by the yard, with a 1-yard minimum; multiple yards are cut as one continuous length. Natural dyes and hand weaving vary slightly from lot to lot, so we recommend a sample for color-critical projects.
