TRH5788 Atsuji Fushi-Ori Heavyweight Cotton
TRH5788 Atsuji Fushi-Ori Heavyweight Cotton
An atsuji (厚地, heavyweight) slub cotton that is sun-dried before weaving and woven slightly loosely, so the texture of each yarn stands out. Despite its weight it drapes softly and gets more supple with use.
Choose undyed kinari (生成り, ecru), a perfect base for your own dyeing, or deep kon (紺) in aizome (藍染め, natural indigo dyeing). Excellent for upholstery, slipcovers, cushions, bags, jackets and coats.
Specifications: Content: 100% Cotton. Width: 39 inches (100 cm). Weight: about 8.4 oz per linear yard (260 g per meter). Hand: heavyweight. Technique: Fushi-ori (slub-yarn weave), sun-dried and loosely woven. Origin: woven in Japan. Colorways: TRH5788.A Kinari Ecru, TRH5788.B Kon Aizome.
Care: Hand wash or gentle machine wash cold, separately. Natural indigo can transfer color with friction, especially when new. Do not bleach. Dry flat in the shade. Professional cleaning recommended for upholstered pieces.
Ordering: Sold by the yard, with a 1-yard minimum; multiple yards are cut as one continuous length. Natural dyes and hand weaving vary slightly from lot to lot, so we recommend a sample for color-critical projects.
