TRH5800 Bingo-Gasuri Han-Gasuri Indigo Ikat Cotton
TRH5800 Bingo-Gasuri Han-Gasuri Indigo Ikat Cotton
Bingo-gasuri (備後絣) is one of Japan's three great kasuri (絣, ikat) traditions. This cloth uses han-gasuri (斑絣, spot ikat): bold, irregular resist-dyed bars that float across deep indigo over subtle gray stripes, expressive and modern.
Medium weight and easy to sew. Use it for statement cushions, shirts, jackets, curtains and quilting.
Specifications: Content: 100% Cotton. Width: 39 inches (100 cm). Weight: about 5.8 oz per linear yard (180 g per meter). Hand: medium weight. Technique: Kasuri (ikat), Bingo-gasuri tradition, plain weave. Origin: woven in Japan.
Care: Hand wash or gentle machine wash cold, separately. Natural indigo can transfer color with friction, especially when new. Do not bleach. Dry flat in the shade. Professional cleaning recommended for upholstered pieces.
Ordering: Sold by the yard, with a 1-yard minimum; multiple yards are cut as one continuous length. Natural dyes and hand weaving vary slightly from lot to lot, so we recommend a sample for color-critical projects.
