TRH5804 Sashi-Ori Heavyweight Woven Sashiko Cotton
TRH5804 Sashi-Ori Heavyweight Woven Sashiko Cotton
Sashi-ori (刺し織, woven sashiko) reproduces the look and strength of hand sashiko (刺し子, running-stitch reinforcement) on a dobby loom. It is the heavy, pebbled cotton of traditional kendo and judo uniforms, made to take hard wear.
In ai (藍, indigo) or sumi (墨, charcoal). Outstanding for upholstered seats and benches, floor cushions, bags, workwear and jackets.
Specifications: Content: 100% Cotton. Width: 37 inches (95 cm). Weight: about 11.3 oz per linear yard (350 g per meter). Hand: heavyweight. Technique: Sashi-ori (woven sashiko), dobby weave. Origin: woven in Japan. Colorways: TRH5804.A Ai Indigo, TRH5804.B Sumi Charcoal.
Care: Hand wash or gentle machine wash cold, separately. Natural indigo can transfer color with friction, especially when new. Do not bleach. Dry flat in the shade. Professional cleaning recommended for upholstered pieces.
Ordering: Sold by the yard, with a 1-yard minimum; multiple yards are cut as one continuous length. Natural dyes and hand weaving vary slightly from lot to lot, so we recommend a sample for color-critical projects.
