TRH5810 Matsusaka Momen Hon-Aizome Solid Indigo Cotton

Solid Matsusaka momen (松阪木綿, Matsusaka cotton) hand-dyed in natural aizome (藍染め, natural indigo dyeing). Indigo shades have their own poetic names in Japanese, set by how many times the cloth is dipped in the vat; these are two of the palest.

Kamenozoki (甕覗き, "a glimpse into the vat"), the faintest sky blue, and mizu-asagi (水浅葱, pale water-green blue). Narrow 40 cm loom width, pre-washed. For patchwork, kimono accents, lampshades, mending and small accessories.

Ordering: Sold by the yard, with a 1-yard minimum; multiple yards are cut as one continuous length. Natural dyes and hand weaving vary slightly from lot to lot, so we recommend a sample for color-critical projects.
